Vivek Kopparthi’s NeoLight helps infants suffering from jaundice

Kopparthi, 25, is co-founder and chief executive officer of NeoLight, a medical device company that develops phototherapy technology to cure jaundice in babies. The company has developed two portable products: NeoLight SkyLife, which runs on electricity, for the U.S. market and the NeoLight SunLife for developing countries, where electricity may not be readily available. The latter unit runs on solar power, battery or electricity. Typical jaundice equipment, which runs on electricity, is a 5-foot-tall unit that isn’t readily portable.
